Providers

WeCareJax works to increase access to specialty health care for uninsured members of our community living at 200% or below the Federal Poverty Level through a network of volunteer providers. More than 500 licensed active and retired physicians and providers have committed to offering uncompensated care that is compassionate, respectful, equitable, and efficient for all our neighbors in need.

We rely on the generous support of physicians and clinicians who volunteer their time and expertise to treat uninsured patients eligible for our Specialty Care services. Thanks to the State of Florida Volunteer Provider program, this uncompensated care is covered under the State’s sovereign immunity after providers and practices complete the contracting process (click here for more details).  The State offers benefits based on hours provided towards the biennial license renewal process, too!

Since 1993, volunteers have provided thousands of visits annually to patients referred for care through our free and charitable primary care clinic partners. The total value of donated care by physicians and hospitals last year alone was nearly $30 million.
