Patient Success Story – Joni
Joni and her husband, Mitchell, were once successful business owners living in Atlantic Beach. In fact, their business employed several individuals and provided health insurance for them as well. However, after the economic downturn, they were forced to close shop and dissolve the business.
Unfortunately, since that time they have taken several hits. Circumstances caused them to have to move from house to car to a hotel that they are currently residing in. More recently, Joni was diagnosed with lung cancer on top of other health concerns she was dealing with, such as two heart attacks and stent placements.
Thankfully, through the services provided by WeCare’s extensive network, Joni successfully underwent a lobectomy that removed a portion of her lung where the cancer cells were present.
Although their situation has not yet made a complete turnaround and she is still recovering from months of ill health, being able to successfully undergo a procedure to remove cancerous cells from her body has restored a sense of her faith and peace.
